Nynke Laverman

The making process of this album started with Nynke’s stay with a nomadic family on the steppes of Mongolia. Her impressions of this culture and her experiences during the journey, formed the inspiration for the lyrics, which she all wrote herself this time. The album is about ‘being a discoverer’, about stretching your boundaries, exploring new grounds. She wrote the main part of the songs together with guitarist Ward Veenstra, who also produced the album with her. After the fado and the Latin American styles, now western pop-influences, Frisian fanfare-elements and beats & electronics predominate. 

Nomade was awarded with the Dutch Edison pop/theatre award 2010
