Premiere documentary 'Heit op soan'

Sytze composed the music for the film/documentary ‘Heit op soan’ (Father to son), made by director Thom Verheul and Pieter Stellingwerf. The film will have its premiere at the 'Nederlands, Vlaams en Fries Filmfestival' March 25 in Leeuwarden.

It’s an annual tradition that touches the Frisians in the heart: searching for lapwing’s eggs in the spring. As a boy Pieter Stellingwerf (theatre maker) went into the fields with his father every year to look for eggs. Becoming an adult it looses his interest, because of the strict regulation by the government. However, on the deathbed of his father he realizes that the tradition is disappearing. He makes a promise to his father that he will pass on the tradition to his twelve-year old son Tjardo. But once in the field with his son, he sees that nature as it was in his romantic youth in Friesland is about to get lost. The meadow-bird population has dramatically decreased; does the searching for eggs still has a place in that reality?
